SSETA Discretionary Grant
SSETA has made available funding for hairdressers to do their Hair Trade Test Free. The Trade test is the NEW OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATION: HAIRDRESSER SAQA ID102497

Criteria
Here’s a concise overview of the criteria to qualify for the Trade Test application:
**Salon Owners: -
Submit a 2-page CV. -
Provide 2 certified ID copies and 1 certified copy taken with your cellphone (A5 size, front only). - Include an affidavit of your service letter on salon letter head, signed and dated, confirming at least 3 years of ownership and detailing all practical work.
Present an affidavit from 3 clients vouching for your work in the salon. **Employed Hairdressers: **
Submit a 2-page CV. - Provide 2 certified ID copies and 1 certified copy taken with your cellphone (A5 size, only). - Include a certified service letter from salon owner, signed and dated, on salon letterhead, confirming at least 3 years of practical work and listing all services done in the salon.

Application and procedures
The hairdresser will fill out an application and a questionnaire to ensure all criteria are met. An Assessor from HTTC will verify the hairdressers employment/work experience with the appropriate salon owner or clients. Study material will be provided, and a date for the pre-assessment will be arranged.

Financial Aid
Your complete Trade test have been funded by SSETA. You have 3 attempts to pass the assessment.
All products will be supplied. If you choose to use your own, you may SUPPLY YOUR OWN.
PROVIDED IT IS A SALON ONLY PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT AND A COLOUR CHART MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR COLOUR TO USE.
You must bring your own personal equipment.
HTTC will supply towels, capes and trollies.
